Gilbert didn't wait until Matthew got to the door. Meeting him at the bottom of the stairs, he took a hand and just stared. He looked at the eyes behind the teal framed glasses, searching. The ocean blue pools were shining with happiness and adoration. Gilbert didn't need to ask about the outfit. He knew from the look Matthew was giving him, not hiding anything. The colors were meant to emulate the German flag, thanking the Belschmidt family for everything they'd done for him.
“No one will take a second look,” Matthew said proudly, finally breaking the silence.
“Oh, yes they will,” Gilbert said under his breath.

“Mm-hm.” France curls an arm around his bare waist. “It is important for me to get my beauty rest.”
“They’re your birds,” England murmurs.
“I can make it worth your while.” Leaning in, France kisses his neck. It would be very nice to stay like this for a long time, floating gracefully in oblivion, right on the shores of sleep and lust. His lids flutter shut, but then a thumb and forefinger find his nose and pinch it. France blinks.
“You’re daft,” England says with a smirk, “if you think that will work on me.”
