Han Yoojin harbored but one simple desire for this evening: to glimpse at his brother one last time, then quietly make his exit before the stroke of midnight.
Alas, fate, or perhaps sheer ill fortune, conspired against him in the form of an obnoxious noble. A gentleman whose attire was so opulent it might as well have rivaled His Majesty the King’s, simply would not leave him be. Yoojin found himself contemplating, with a surge of violence, whether to simply liberate his wine glass onto the insufferable blonde's pristine silks. The man then had the unmitigated gall to remark upon Yoojin's beauty in white, boldly stating he might as well be his bride.
*Whose fucking bride?*
Han Yoojin was fully prepared to embark upon his journey to find a happily ever after, but he had simply not accounted for *this* to happen when he stepped into that enchanted carriage, with glass slippers and all.

Once upon a time, there was a man who wagered against the stars.

“Tell me, Yoojin-gun,” he says idly, “what do you think it means to be mortal?”
Yoojin raises an eyebrow, unimpressed. “Ugh. Why are all you S-Ranks like this? Did the fight knock something loose in your head?”
“Humor me.”
Yoojin sighs, tilting his head as if considering. “You’re not a god. You’re human. Mortality means you’re allowed to screw up,” he says eventually. “You make mistakes, you die, and the world keeps going without you.”
“And if the world doesn’t let you die?”
Yoojin snorts. “Then you’re just unlucky.”
Unlucky. Sung Hyunjae doesn’t laugh this time.

Summary
Ah. A smile that wasn’t quite as fake as it should’ve been pulled at the corners of Sung Hyunjae’s lips. What had hit Han Yoojin earlier had seemed like a type of pollen; Yoojin’s poison resistance skill should’ve eliminated it…unless it wasn’t poison.
In a dungeon accident, Han Yoojin gets hit with a pollen that his Poison Resistance doesn’t register as poison, and the only other person around is Sung Hyunjae.
