Summary
And, well…
“I’d be a lot more comfortable if we left this room,” Phryne whispered to her husband, hands clutching at his lapels.
Dot tried not to stiffen; this was her friend! Her admittedly inebriated friend! And Miss Fisher and the Inspector were very, very, very close (Dot had the unfortunate timing, last summer, of stumbling into a shady alcove on the beach and seeing just how close) and they were married.
The problem wasn’t Miss Fisher, it was Dot’s mazelike Catholic upbringing: follow these rules in this order! Don’t delay! Stay on the righteous path! Sometimes she wished she were Protestant like Hugh. If that were the case, at least the rules would be a little more relaxed.
