It is a morning like any other when Riku realizes it. When Sion corners him in the hyeongwan before they leave. Against the wall. He does not pin him down - Sion never does - but he holds his hands and rests their foreheads together and there is a part of their hyung that does not exist anymore. That has died. Riku knows it because there is no one in this world he knows better than Oh Sion. No one he has dedicated more of himself to.
“Riku-ah,” Sion breathes. “Riku-ah. You know that hyung loves you, right?” His breath is unsteady. “I’d lose my mind without you. You’re perfect.”
They do not talk about it, the things they should be talking about. They do not settle the guilt nor the pain nor the memory of their pup crying into their necks, begging for relief. It is just them again and again, in their early twenties, too young for the responsibility, keeping their chins high and making promises they can’t keep.
“I know you do, hyung,” Riku says. A promise, again. One he cannot keep. “I love you too.”

Seakan ranting itu adalah ikatan yang perlahan-lahan membelit hati sang pemakai, menghubungkannya pada orang yang memberi.
“Cantik sekali,” pujian Daeyoung yang tidak pernah berubah sejak 15 tahun lalu kembali terdengar. Yushi tetap tersipu. Jantungnya tetap berdetak sangat kencang. Hanya bukan lagi karena rasa takut, tetapi karena sesuatu yang tidak berani Yushi coba cari artinya.

Sion stares down at the paper in his hand. SHARING CYCLES WITH BANDMATES, it says. THE DO’S AND DON’TS. There’s a little SM logo on the top left that lets Sion know that this is not, in fact, some practical joke, but very, very frighteningly real.
Sion looks over at Riku, who has gone pale.
Oh, shit.
“This-” he says slowly. “This can’t-”
“It’s standard procedure for bandmates,” she says, cutting him off. “This is what we do for everyone. It’s to minimize scandal, yes? Minimize cycle sharing outside the pack, yes?” She smiles. “You two are the only presented members in your group. This is protocol.”

He’s been really into those, recently, no matter how much Sion tells him he doesn’t want Riku getting FOMO. But Riku always insists, and Sion can’t stop him no matter how hard he tries. So he tries to just be supportive, instead.
So Sion hums. “How were they? Were we up to your standards?” Riku was picky, for a little bit, about how Sakuya was covering his lines. Not enough swag, he said on more than one occasion. But that was mostly the anxiety talking.
And yet:
“I wasn’t watching the performance,” Riku says, breathless quality to his voice again. “I was watching you.”

Sion and Riku are on opposite sides of Japan. Sion has no qualms about telling the world just how much he misses his "roommate." Riku may have a few feelings about that.
