  Summary

  King Mace Gardener of the Reach is faced with an older king and decides to ask the Emperor of the Valyrian Freehold for help, but he did not account for the open prejudice of his lords and their wives. Will he be able to keep the Emperor's help in time to win the ensuing war or shall he have to make do without it?

  Fifteen years ago, the Crown Princess Aenora Targaryen and her favourite, Ceryse Belmore, a girl given to the Valyrian Emperor as a consolation after her father's insult, face an unforeseen challenge in the form of a betrothal. Namely, one between the Emperor Maelor IV Targaryen, Aenora's father. They must work together to ensure the wedding does not take place, no matter the cost.
