Atsushi stills, dropping into a crouch. She doesn't stop laughing, slowly turning to face him, and Atsushi blanches. Her features are completely different– even her hair has changed! She grins, reaching her hand out towards Atsushi with a cheerful hum. “You should have just—“ he doesn’t hear what she says over the ringing in his ears, a blinding white light filling his vision.

Although, she was now being taken to a prison-like backwater orphanage where she would meet a silver-haired boy she would come to call her brother.
(AU where instead of being taken to a facility after the Great/Ability War ends, Yosano is taken to Atsushi's orphanage. This changes things.)

In all honesty, Atsushi was not surprised by it. He was just so tired.
