A smile suddenly broke the mercenary's face, which seemed somehow irritating. "Fabulous. Then you will accompany me."
"I don't think I will," Kagome replied, her voice sounding thinner than intended. She would have felt much more comfortable with her bow and arrow now.
Bankotsu leaned casually into the doorframe. "That wasn't a request."
Her heart was up to her throat. "Kidnapping a miko is not really honorable."
Bankotsu clicked his tongue. "Who's talking about kidnapping? I'd call it more like a little trip. I'll bring you back afterwards, too, but unfortunate circumstances have arisen where I need your services, and with respect, I don't have time the whole day."
At the last part of the sentence, his voice had sounded a touch cooler and suddenly Kagome felt Bankotsu grab her by the upper arm to drag her outside. Her first impulse was to protest. Her second impulse was to think that she was not armed and Inu Yasha was not within reach. Damn.[...] -
