Summary
For many years now, in particularly stressful times, Moze’s mind would revert back to when he was a child, before the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus got their hands on him. Back to a time where he was carefree and happy, a fat little toddler with the only thing on his mind being when he was going to get to play next. This.. regression, as FeiXiao called it, had been doing wonders to keep him from snapping at people when irritated, knowing that he would be able to return home and relax in this way.

But yet again, his heart yearned for someone to coddle him, to take care of him, and his partner was right there, on the other side of a closed door and worried about him. He wanted to whimper, to cry, anything to get Jiaoqiu to come into the room and take exceptional care of him.But he couldn’t. He couldn’t bring himself to do it. Jiaoqiu didn’t deserve this.

Nothing should have happened. At least, not—
Not to Jiaoqiu. Not when Moze had been here to protect him.
Moze runs a shaky hand through his sweaty hair. He feels faint. Jiaoqiu’s pink hair blurs, until there are two splitting images of him lying on the dirty ground. His normal golden eyes that usually shine brighter than the morning sun dull into a lifeless grey. The longer he stares the more pale the foxian gets.
Jiaoqiu. Lovely, sweet, kind, beautiful, and stunningly gorgeous Jiaoqiu… lies underneath Moze looking half dead.
He might as well be dead if Moze doesn't kick his ass into gear. Each second he spends staring at his lips that begin to lose their colour, shallowly panting for breath, is a crucial second.
“J-Just… go…” Jiaoqiu has the nerve to smile at him. It looks wrong. All wrong. Different from the soft grins or teasing smirks he’s used to getting.
This one means farewell.
