    Momose couldn't believe that such an invitation had really been offered to him, much less that he'd taken it, but now that he stood drunken and disoriented in the doorway of Shirosaki's apartment, it all felt too blissfully good to be true.

    It was styled modernly and decorated sparsely, but it still felt homey; little details like Hakutou’s toys strewn around the floor, his scratch marks on the couch and the plants lined up on shelves made it feel more lived-in and loved. Speaking of Hakutou–

    Momose’s eyes were drawn to the corner, catching sight of Hakutou curled up on top of a cat tower, presumably at the same time Shirosaki noticed him, because at that moment his manager made a beeline for the opposite side of the room.
