Summary
“I don’t…” Derek tries to pull back his anger but fails. “You’re the one who left.” He snaps back. This is exactly the argument he’s been hoping to avoid. Somehow it always comes back to this.
“You’re the one who didn’t follow.” His husband sounds more disappointed than angry and, really, that is so much worse. The brunet deflates. “I don’t want to have the same argument with you we’ve been having all year. It’s Christmas, can’t we just… pretend.” There’s a sadness in his voice and Derek hates it. Hates that he’s the reason for it.
“I love you.” Derek says, because no matter how many arguments they have that will always be true.
“And you know I love you, but sometimes… sometimes that’s not enough.”

Derek Hale was a good kid. He'd always been a good kid. Noah Stilinski had known him for a long time and was probably one of the few people, maybe the only person, to have known him through all the different stages of his life and to have been witness to all the tragedies that had shaped him.

Summary
This is a podfic of Julibean's work, their original summary:
"He wasn’t going to do it again. He wasn’t going to let another date look at him in horror. Derek refused to be seen as a freak. He was just going to find a new job, move out of his parent’s house, and die alone.
“Just one more date Derek, please!” Laura begged, following him down the stairs and waving her phone at his back.
“I said no! You don’t know what it’s like,” Derek muttered, suddenly defeated.
“I know babe,” Laura told him, coming up to wrap an arm around her little brother, standing up on her tippy toes until she could lay her head on his shoulder. “But look at this guy. He’s gorgeous.”
Derek couldn’t resist a quick glance at the dating app. Damnit. Laura was right, as always. The guy was gorgeous. A mole dotted face with an adorably upturned nose smirked at him from behind a pair of square framed glasses, and he could feel his resolve crumbling."

Summary
He's only been back from his service tour for a little while. Far too soon to be adjusted to civilian life. Not to mention blind dates. He's still adjusting. Therefore, he hasn't bothered establishing an insurance policy on the old family mansion, now empty, so when it burns down he has nothing: no clothes, no job, no keepsakes, nowhere to live.
Oh wait, he does have somewhere to live, but it's in the spare bedroom of his super-obnoxious blind date, Stiles.
