Summary
After being disowned by her wealthy family, Inko Midoriya is forced to raise her son Izuku in the slums. When Izuku is just five, their home is targeted by violent men. To protect him, Inko lures the attackers away, sacrificing her life to keep her son safe. Orphaned and alone, Izuku grows up in the streets, hardened by loss and survival.
Years later, during a brutal villain raid, Izuku is caught by a notorious villain known for mutilating victims. He’s found unconscious in an alley—his right arm gone from the elbow down, and deep slashes cutting across the left side of his face. Though he survives, the encounter leaves him permanently scarred, both physically and emotionally.

[So maybe he’d thought about what it would mean to take Izuku’s hand in earnest after everything? Maybe he’d thought about what it would be like to feel scar on scar, the tangible proof of their joint dedication to being heroes connecting, and so what of it? Izuku had lost his left arm to the war, but his right arm was still there, and right now it was more than just there for Katsuki-- quite literally at the tips of his own fingers.
He couldn’t see the scars this time, but he can feel them, skin thicker, rougher, and puckered at the edges of each jagged section of regrowth. The years had allowed them to fade a bit, and while certainly less noticeable than they were, Kacchan knew them regardless.
So lost in the feeling of just being able to touch, he doesn’t notice Izuku’s turned his head, ignoring the images on the screen in favor of the image of Katsuki enamored by the feeling of his hand.]OR

"Having a child.” Shouto's eyes flicker down to Satsuki, hand in her mouth and lolling back against her father’s chest with ease. “Having so much responsibility on your shoulders.”
Eijirou’s smile is soft and kind, and more understanding than it really ought to be. “It’s even more terrifying than being a hero. But, honestly? Saving an entire office block of people or catching the villain you’ve been after for months is nothing compared to holding them in your arms for the first time.” He pauses. “Is that something you're considering? Having children?”
He swallows again. "It's less that I'm considering it and more that I'm afraid of it," Shouto tells him, and the strain in his voice is obvious to them both.
Shouto has complicated feelings around fatherhood. Izuku has all the patience in the world.
