“Merlin,” Arthur sighs. The man’s body is heavy; his skin pale. “Just hold me, please.” It could almost be disguised as long-suffering if Merlin ignored the rest. A quirk of the lips would be all that Merlin would need to know that it would all be OK. If he ignored the tiredness of his voice, the upcoming quiet, the slowing of that thready hum. Almost like a little bird fluttering against its cage. He tried not to think of the terrible warmth of blood on his fingers that would soon be a terrible cold.

Summary
He was on his way to the store when he felt a stirring in the air, something familiar from ages past. It made his hair stand on end, and he pulled his jacket tighter around his body. He had his beat up headphones on, blocking out the sounds of the street. He was uncomfortable, deeply, deeply uncomfortable. That stirring felt… significant. In a way he hadn’t felt since- since Arthur.
Merlin is flung into the past, dragged across time and space to a Camelot so like his own and yet not at all the same. After a thousand years, he must find his way in this new world, or run as far away as he can, if only to save himself. Not to mention that Arthur is nowhere in sight, and those that he loves are in danger if they even get near him...
Arthur dreams of a life that is not his own, flashes of a past that he never lived haunting him. To possibly find answers, he must travel to Camelot, and possibly see what these strange dreams mean. Not to mention Mordred and Archimedes hinting at a destiny far greater than him, and the balance of magic as they know it forever altered by a strange force known as Emrys...

"Maybe Merlin was a lost child. Never been able to get to 18 without… this burden."
"Merlin. I’ll help you.”
“Kill me. I don’t want to feel anything anymore. Burn my corpse in the courtyard - serve it for dinner, for all I care.” He laughs, swaying towards Arthur’s chest a little. Arthur doesn’t move. His throat feels scratchy. What’s he supposed to do or say?
“I know you want me to die.” Merlin states. Arthur’s brows pinch and he shakes his head with a wince.
He wanted to retire to his chambers forever. He wanted to throw up his guts.
“You’d enjoy it, right - killing me?” Merlin asked as if he was already certain of the answer. Pale and frail fingers twisted the sword so the sharp edge scraped against the King’s armor. Arthur gulped but made no intention to move.
Merlin slid his fingers up the side of the blade, leaning in closer until his lips were centimeters from Arthur’s ear. “You don’t have to hide how you truly feel. I accept all of you - even the part that wishes people like me dead.”

Summary
It was like an unwritten rule of Camelot's: every time the King chooses to go hunting with his men, at least one vengeful sorcerer has to cut their trip short. Sometimes, the Fates went crazy and threw in two. Today was one of those crazy days as, like always, their journey home was obstructed by two murderous bandits.
Like always, the bandits had everyone at their mercy, much to Leon’s shame. Like always, their arms bound and tied to tree trunks whilst the King was forced into a kneeling position on the floor.
Leon was very ashamed.
He looked up at the sky, hoping for a stroke of luck. That was another unwritten rule of Camelot’s — every time said murderous sorcerers attacked Arthur and his company, it seemed their environment would do its best to help them out. Yes, it was embarrassing that they, the strongest knights in the five realms, were relying on trees and birds to help but Leon took his wins where he got them.
Unfortunately, today seemed to be the exception to the second unwritten rule of Camelot.
Or Merlin gets a long awaited therapy session... with a rogue bandit. Leon had stopped asking questions a long time ago.

Merlin came to gamble with fate herself, because what else could he do? When every day he watched the sunrise he wished would never come and every night he watched the fields basking in the moonlight he prayed he could be blind to. He saw the kingdoms rising and falling, their stories not much but fleeting moments.
They were nothing, his laugh would sometimes ring in the air, nothing compared to the sorrow filling his heart, to loneliness paralyzing his body, to the void that was left of his soul. They were small and brief, while his heartbreak, as his love once was, was monumental and eternal.
And so were the Great Stones of Nemeton as he was standing in between them hours after he had robbed Camelot's treasury. What else could he do when he had betrayed everything he once believed in? He held the Horn of Cathbhadh to his mouth and hesitated.
Because the warlock with jewels for eyes believed the second time he came back, he did it because he failed again.

He randomly brings in bunches of weeds and calls them bouquets, he sets out potpourri or candles with incense which make his room stink like compost, carves swirly pictures into his bed, table, chairs, and other wooden furniture arguing that they’re decorative, and sews similar shapes into the insides of the hems of his trousers and shirts because “This way you can feel fancy without showing off.”
And then a sorcerer surrenders themselves to Arthur, saying that the protection wards around him are impenetrable for someone wishing him harm, and could he please study under Arthur’s magical protector?
