He spun around to face him, a small sad smile on his face. "I have always been lonely Lo'ak," his voice was rather of sorrow and desperation of a child who wanted nothing but love, "and that's why I burnt down the whole village, to feel it's warmth." He finished and took a deep sigh.

It hadn’t been long since Neteyam died. It was recent enough that his absence was thick in the air. In their home, where his spot remained empty and untouched. All the more obvious when the rest of the family laid to rest at night.
Lo’ak couldn’t keep himself from looking over every so often. Knowing, of course, the spot would be empty. And yet every time he turned his head in the night a small part of him hoped, no expected, to see Neteyam’s sleeping face. His braids splayed on the ground carelessly around him. Soft snores occasionally filling the space between them. Something that bothered Lo’ak to no end before. Now, he thinks, he would do absolutely anything for the sound if it meant his brother was sleeping peacefully besides him.
