...But she did not want to learn a new discipline. Necromancy had been her life - it held too much meaning for her to just give it up so easily. For months now, she had been trying to find a workaround - some way to get past her body’s deeper instincts and use her old powers. Yet with every passing day, she was met with more failures, making that dream seem ever more futile.
She closed her eyes as her hand came to grip the edge of her shelves. She rested her head against a collection of particularly old tomes, as if to draw some sort of comfort from those early days of learning. I... I don’t want to give these up. So much time reading and rereading, adding my own notes in... They’re like my children. Her lips quivered. But if I can’t use them... It would be selfish to keep them here, wouldn’t it? If this next attempt doesn’t work, perhaps I... I need to give them away. Probably to Shion. She always loves learning new things about every field, and she’d take care of them.
