“The last thing Jean needs is more people making decisions for him.” Jeremy says. If there’s one thing he knows, it’s that. He doesn’t need the full story to see that Jean has never been allowed to make his own choices. “He needs space to heal.”
“I didn’t bring him here to heal.” Kevin snaps and then looks stricken the second the words leave his mouth. That’s all that saves him from Jeremy’s wrath.

The bottomless trust he finds in Jean’s eyes, even after everything, is dizzying enough to make him sick. “Jean does not know how to be a person, much less his own. You do not know him as I do.”
