The key is taken from his hands, and he’s lifted away into the car, where he’s placed in the back seat with little fanfare, the door closing shut beside him. The car starts to drive away as London passes by him, sirens whirring as first responders arrive at the tunnel collapse, but Ethan doesn’t pay it any attention, instead shutting his eyes and praying that the rest of his team managed to escape.
Wishing that he could know what their fates were as he sent them on their most dangerous mission yet.
Benji would tell him what happened; Benji always told him.
“Talk to me, Benji,” Ethan asks gently into the night, but as he already knows, Benji’s not around to hear him and fulfill his request.
