Summary
Harry Potter remembers his parents, magic, and the day that changed his life forever. He considers magic and memories to be his best tools for survival. He did not grow up the way Dumbledore wanted him to, and he will not fill the desired role. In fact, Dumbledore is exactly who he blames for his life with the Dursleys.

He shortened his strides to match hers, a quiet ease as he navigated the turns of the halls. Meanwhile she was hyper aware of her breathing, louder than her footsteps and seeming to echo through the castle. She was about to apologize, insist she wasn't out of shape, but maybe all the traveling....
"What's your name?" he asked. "I guess I'll hear it when they call you to be sorted, but I'd kind of like to know it before everybody else does. I met you first, seems fair, or less weird than not knowing."
She tucked her hair behind her ear. Her cheeks felt as red as his hair.
"It's Eleanore. Eleanore Ducharme. It's nice to meet you, George Weasley.

One different choice, just one, puts Harry Potter on an entirely new path in life. A path where he gets the help he needs and deserves with adults that actually do their jobs and with a Magical Guardian that is willing and able to truly keep him safe in all his years at Hogwarts and beyond.
Meet a Harry Potter that might be many shades darker than in the canon books, but who also is so much happier and safer. There will be dark times, distress and angst, but in the end, happiness will prevail. This is a feel good, or at least feel content, story and the reader should never doubt that Harry and his friends will come out on top, no matter what difficulties they might face. After all, they have a lot of competent and highly protective adults on their side.
This is a Work in Progress, and the author makes no guarantees for when, or even if, it will ever be finished. Read at your own risk.

The day that Harry Potter destroyed Tom Riddle's Diary was the day a voice appeared inside his head.
His life quickly changes after this; Ron and Harry are fighting, Harry has smuggled his pet dog Padfoot into Hogwarts, Harry has grown very close to Professor Lupin very quickly, and Harry is making plans on how to kill Voldemort.
And that's not even counting Harry’s increasingly perverse desires.
All in all, his third year is filled with enough to keep him busy all year round. -
