Summary
Every three months as the full moon approaches, a monster appears in the resort ski town of Kepler, West Virginia. Some are physically strong, some excel at mind-control, others control the elements, but all of them are deadly. For nearly thirty years a local underground organization—The Pine Guard—has worked to keep these monsters under control, and hidden from the public. But now, a new generation of abominations has begun to terrorize Kepler, growing hungrier and stronger with each passing full moon.
With this new generation of monsters, the Pine Guard must acquire a new generation of recruits. Who answers the call? A park ranger with an odd secret, a stage magician who may or may not have actual magic powers, and a thief-turned-curator of Kepler’s local cryptid museum. The newest members of the Pine Guard must find exactly where these monsters come from, and find a way to stop them for good—before it’s too late.

Summary
An Amnesty fanfiction, after the fact. AU where Arc 5 did not happen and The Pine Guard continued to fight Abominations until the gate finally shut down, making it so nothing could go out or come in. Minerva did make her way over and Ned Chicane did die. The original events of Amnesty happened in the late 90s but this fanfiction takes place in the present day.

Every year, the towns surrounding the Sylph Mountains must sacrifice one human per town to keep the monsters that haunt them satisfied and at bay. They choose the citizens that they deem to be inconvenient- deviants. Disgraces. Nobody knows what happens to these sacrifices, but everybody knows that they are never heard from again.
AUBREY LITTLE is a young lady who’s been avoiding the festival that celebrates these sacrifices, until she meets DANI, a mysterious and enchanting newcomer.
JOSEPH STERN has a secret, one which could get him sacrificed. Luckily, he’s a careful man, and so is his friend, BARCLAY... aren’t they?
DUCK NEWTON is a man who loves the woods more than he can say, but he definitely doesn’t love deterring festival guests away from going missing in them when they wander off the beaten path. And he may not love this strange character who’s popped up in the supposedly haunted part of the woods.

“Barclay doesn’t like it when you drive his baby,” I said as we climbed into the truck. Hollis scoffed.
“I treat his baby better than he does,” They said, mildly offended.
“Yeah, tell that to the scratch on her chasis after last week,” I said, turning the truck on and hitting the seat warmers while Aubrey buckled up next to me. She’d climbed in before Hollis, which meant her thigh pressed into mine, and her hands hovering awkwardly over her legs until they settled clasped between them. I cleared my throat, and turned on the radio. Hollis slammed the passenger door shut, and I turned my lights on. -

A stone archway stands in the center of a small clearing. The waxing moon reaches its zenith in the star-lit sky above. The carpet of pine needles begins to vibrate in soft pulses away from the center of this clearing and, in an instant, the span of the arch is filled with the moonlight above, and the carpet of needles is stripped away as sharp winds blow outward and away from the clearing in every direction.
The moon’s reflection on the archway dims.
