Summary
Jon and Martin end up somewhere else.
They now exist in another dimension. Because it was through a Web manipulation, they ‘exist’ in this new dimension. (They have IDs, etc and while they didn’t actually exist here before they now have pasts written in where they worked at the Magnus Institute as Head Archivist and Archival Assistant. The Magnus Institute here collapsed during TowerFall as well - for some reason a gas main exploded? Nobody knows yet - but it was at night so nobody was injured. Other than of course Jon and Martin. Shouldn't have been working overtime I suppose).
Lots of hurt/comfort and emotional hurt/comfort. Jon's not in a good mental state - he just had trillions of life forms' suffering in his head and now he's human again. That's going to do a number on someone. Plus he and Martin were crushed by a falling building. That never ends super well. Plus they've both got to contend with their original mental health issues. There will be some angst here.

Martin’s heart breaks clean in two when Jon comes home one morning and says he broke his sobriety at an office party and slept with his boss. Splitting up with him is soul-crushing, but it has to be done, Jon knows that Martin’s been cheated on before and he did it anyway. Still, he can’t completely put away the thought that that is so unlike the Jon he knows, and when Daisy approaches him with her perspective on the events of that night, Martin starts to get a very, very bad feeling.

'As one could imagine, the sudden responsibility of an entire Archive thrown at him without warning- and one as decrepit as the Magnus Institute's at that- was already more than enough for Jon to handle. He was already burnt out beyond belief and starting to tear at the seams, and his grandmother’s sudden passing had done absolutely nothing to ease that.'
After his grandmother's sudden passing, Jonathan Sims found himself responsible for sorting through the house and belongings she had left behind. The problem was, however- that even after two decades he still couldn't stomach the idea of returning to Bournemouth alone. So when Martin offers to make the trip with him, he sees no choice but to very begrudgingly accept.
