Summary
This story was greatly inspired by PonchoFirewalker01's 'Preserving and Reviving the Skull' on DeviantArt. After all, I am a DIEHARD FAN of both Peter Jackson's amazing remake of King Kong and Jurassic Park/World, along with Disney's cult classic film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Only this time, ALL of the animals from Skull Island, along with the natives, are going to be rescued by Carl and his team before the island sinks in 1948.

Summary
Mr. Harcourt’s “suggestion” to jump into the Potomac had been a mockery, Milo knew, but in the moment, Milo hadn’t had any other ideas. He’d silently taken up the coin and his ruined resignation form and gone to the closest trolley stop.
That's when things get... interesting.
After helping strangers Miguel and Tulio -and their horse and armadillo- out of the river, Milo learns they're from another time and place. With no way to help them back, Milo offers an alternative: travel with him to find the Shepherd's Journal. Miguel, always eager for adventure and mystery, and Tulio, wary but intrigued by the possibility of finding more treasure, accept.
Their journey is kick-started when Milo discovers the Shepherd's Journal, mysteriously left for him by his grandfather. The trio set off in a hastily bought steamboat, ready to swim to Atlantis if necessary.
Elsewhere, Mr. Whitmore wishes he was a little more direct in giving Milo the Journal when Milo goes missing.

Isabel Thatch, archaeologist, has been trying to run away from her grandfather's legacy for years. However, no one can ever escape their legacy, and when the Shepherd's Journal falls into Milo's hands, she knows she can only let herself get swept away. And, as if the depths, the death and the darkness weren't enough to fray her nerves, she begins to find she enjoys the company of a certain blonde maybe a bit too much for her liking.

In all honesty, she wasn’t even sure why she continued to take orders from him. Maybe this was her one chance to be a coward for once, because yes, siding with Rourke and committing genocide was significantly easier for her right now than pulling a 180 on him this late into the mission in favor of a bunch of people she had known for less then a day and who weren’t too keen on her as of now. Pretty much what the title says. Milo is Christmas spirit incarnate and it's his favorite holiday season, Rourke hasn't celebrated the holidays in 40 years. But this is Milo and Rourke's first Christmass together, so Rourke wants it to be perfect for Milo. Which, since this is a cheesy Christmas movie, means there's a good amount of holiday clichés, a romantic winter kiss scene, and a sad scene where someone cries, but it's okay, and they're more in love than ever in the end. And something about the non-religious true meaning of Christmas.
