Summary
Every other League member had… something. Compress had his, apparently, burgeoning YouTube career. Toga had her growing friendship with Ochaco and Izuku, her volunteer work, her attempts to catch up on normal teenage experiences. Spinner had his revolution. Dabi had his tentative reconnection with his family. Twice… Twice seemed to be content with the way things were, and now he and Hawks were playing chess in the park like old men.
And Tomura… he was a relic. Here he was back at the start, as weak and scrawny as he was when he first started the League, his eczema returning as if it had never left, his empire reduced to rubble that was rapidly being cleared away to build a new world that had no place for him. Soon, the war would be just a bad memory, and he along with it. Maybe he should have died in that final battle, then at least his family would remember him at the height of his power.
Now, he was a ghost haunting the safehouse, watching the League move forward while he stayed behind.

The thought gnaws at him, sharp and bitter. He looks back at the mirror, forcing himself to stare at the stranger staring back. The longer he looks, the more the details seem to shift and warp in his mind. The sharp lines of his old features bleed into this smoother, softer version of himself. It’s like staring at a ghost—someone who might have been him in another life, another body, another world. A face that isn’t his but now is. The one he’d begged for in middle school, the one he wished he’d for when he stood on that rooftop.
The bile rises again, and he turns away quickly, his hood falling back into place as he doubles over, gripping his knees. He can’t look anymore. He can’t face it. The reflection feels like it’s mocking him, showing him what he’s lost, what he can’t get back. His stomach heaves, and he swallows hard, willing himself not to throw up. The ache in his chest spreads, suffocating and relentless.

Shuichi returns to the hideout after being missing for three days, unfortunately he's come home a little different. Quirkless and a bit off balance to be clear.

It started with the hospitals. Major hospitals around the countries of Japan, Korea, and China were bombed over the course of three days. Everyone was busy winding down from celebrating the New Year. Doctors had just gotten on shift. Underground heroes had just started heading home. In the chaos, nobody noticed the true cause of the expansions for the slums.
Aizawa-sensei was the first to go. Recovery Girl was next. It was planned this way. Doctors are needed for health, but mostly morale. They keep the peace, heal the wounded, and inspire others.
Hero Agencies were next: Endeavor, Best Jeanist, Hawks. Shouto, Bakugou, Tokoyami. Rows and rows of the best of the best fell.News castings several months later.
UA was a safe haven a second time. This time, it was not a bastion. It was a travesty for survivors already torn apart by several tragedies.
News reporters from other countries remarked on the end of Asian society. A simplification of a planned disaster. Several were confused: there was no cause.
Few knew why, and this would be the end for Izuku Midoriya.
