The men in the helicopter sat around the metal crate as they headed towards the military positions in the forests of Grenada. They were launching a strike on a garrison guarding anti-tank guns. The positions were guarded by an unknown number of soldiers and miscellaneous personnel who could take up arms, and the soldiers had taken advantage of the thick forest by setting up hidden machine gun nests and small trench works. Many of the operatives were veterans of the Vietnam war, and were wary of the similarities between the situation here and that costly and violent conflict. But all of this wasn’t what had them on edge. What had them on edge was the thing in the cage.

Cyno has had a reoccurring dream the past few days. It's the same thing over and over, but whenever he does something different to change the outcome of his decisions, it always ends the same.
Tighnari. Dying in his arms. Taking his last, painful breath full of agony and emotion. He would always be gone within 5-10 minutes. And when he finally gave up on fighting for his life, his skin turned as pale as a fresh sheet of snow. Peaceful. Tranquil. Unbothered. Unperturbed. But when he passed, he could also see the life spilling out of his best friend.
