He woke up with a scream lodged in his throat, unable to see anything around him through the blood that clouded his eyes and coated his cheeks. Fear was familiar, something he could work through, so he leaned to his right and felt for the switch on the bedside lamp. The light did nothing to help him when everything was distorted by the blood in his eyes, so he had to feel his way along the wall, taking careful steps that still left him feeling like a stumbling wreck. The bathroom door was open, welcoming him into the start of his morning routine, even though it was three in the morning and he felt like death. His right hand slapped the wall beside the door and he wrinkled his nose when his wet palm slid across the slate tile before connecting with the light switch. Blood. Of course there was blood on his hand.
The ethereal quality of the dream had vanished the moment he saw the rinne sharingan that dragged him right back to the civil war and reintroduced all of the darkness he’d worked so hard to keep from flooding back into his life.

Fun is a choice word. Sasuke would prefer to use the word annoying. Shikamaru thinks tedious is a good option too. Neji has been banned from describing the haunted house as anything but an activity. With a division of three to twelve, fun may be a choice word but it’s the official descriptor.

FORMERLY TITLED GLASS CAGE.
Three years have passed since Sasuke abandoned the village. Neji was only fourteen then — naive, loyal, and prepared to risk everything to bring a rogue shinobi home. But he never said he disagreed with Sasuke’s choice. In fact, part of him understood it all too well.
Now, fate throws them together in the most twisted way imaginable: captured by a lunatic obsessed with collecting kekkei genkai like novelties. Locked in a cage with nothing but time and tension, the two are forced to cooperate if they want to escape. But before the planning begins, the silence demands to be filled — and conversation becomes inevitable.
Their paths should have diverged once they broke free. But somehow, they didn’t.
TLDR: Sasuke and Neji discover their similarities whilst they're trapped in a psycho's basement. Neji silently suffers, Sasuke wants to kick him in the face, isn't that the perfect setup for a blossoming romance?

“What is that smell?” He took several deep breaths and held the air in his lungs. The air smelled like jasmine and leather, and he couldn't remember encountering the scent while exploring the upstairs. Neji placed a hand over the scent gland on the right side of his neck. “Oh. It's you.” Sasuke winced when he realized he sounded disappointed. It was rude. And while he normally wouldn't have cared, he knew he had to live with Neji for an undetermined length of time. They couldn't afford to make one another unhappy.
“The rainwater loosened one of my scent blockers enough that I had to remove it. I haven't had the chance to replace it.”
“Don't bother.”
“It hasn't been long. My scent is still strong. I don't want to bother you.”
“Oh. That.” He shifted on his feet, unsure of how to handle discussing Neji's rut. They would have to discuss the uncomfortable subject at some point. They were both alphas, so there was a risk that they could trigger aggression if they were together during a rut. “It's,” he stopped, still struggling, “fine.”

If you want a summary of these ideas, well so many of us love seeing our favorite characters SUFFER. Asahi Kobe of Happy Sugar Life has been one of my favorites for several years now and I want to write about him someday. I'm simply desperate to not lose interest in the ideas I'm about to share.
