Summary
When Roy Mustang, Space Pirate Captain of the Phantom Flame is severely wounded he and Riza Hawkeye his Nezreit First Mate are forced to make a hard choice. A choice that puts their already illegal lives to the ultimate defiance of intergalactic law. Riza gives some of her life force to save her Captain’s life at his agreement. But giving life energy to another person especially of the opposite gender can have some consequences. Most notably the conception of a hybrid child. Hybrids have been outlawed by the Unified Alliance for almost a century now. No one’s really sure why, but now Roy and Riza will have to evade a fate worse than death. Losing the unborn child growing in Roy's belly. Because the Alliance Armada has only one punishment for such a crime; termination.

Pearl took a sip of her coffee, glancing at Grian's phone. "So, what's the latest on our favorite government-sanctioned winged hero?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Grian rolled his eyes. "Please, don't start with that."
"What?" Pearl feigned innocence, her raven wings fluttering slightly beneath her hoodie. "I'm just saying, the guy's got a pretty good gig. Flying around, looking all majestic."
"When he flies on his stupid glider, people cheer, yet we can't even show a feather." Jimmy muttered.
"Keep your voice down, Jimmy," Grian whispered, glancing around the cafe nervously.
"I'm just saying, it's not fair!" Pearl hissed back.
"You know we don't have a choice, Pearl," Grian retorted, his voice low but firm.
