Summary
Abandoned by his wife just prior to the Jahr Null celebrations, John Smith struggles with what it means to be a Nazi. With control of his personal life slipping from his tenuous grasp, John feels compelled to punish his prisoner on his own terms. Terrifying though he may be, Juliana is not nearly as fragile as he expects after a day in Reich custody. Meanwhile, riled up Hitler Youth storm the streets of Manhattan, hell-bent on obliterating every last vestige of America. As Himmler lies between life and death, Goebbels makes himself at home in NYC. Meanwhile anti-fascist assassins are set to unleash their own propaganda on an unsuspecting populace. Despite the enmity between them, John and Juliana develop a relationship that defies their worldviews, ultimately unlocking the potential to alter the course of many lives. But not if John's rational mind can help it.
Pitch-black, white-hot sexual elements, explicit dialogue. A tortured John who tortures well. A lost cause, or so it seems.

What begins as a strictly professional interest in Juliana’s enigmatic background soon spirals into an obsessive, even possessive affair, threatening to unravel the carefully constructed life John has built. As Juliana struggles to assert her autonomy under John’s control, Helen begins to piece together the truth, leading to a dangerous game of power and betrayal among everyone involved.

Lila nodded, her eyes filled with a mixture of pride and uncertainty. “Yes, but at what cost?” she murmured.
John kissed her, silencing her doubts for a moment. “A new world,” he said, “Our world.”
And so, under the watchful gaze of Obergruppenführer John Smith, a new era began. An era of unparalleled power, dominance, and control, with the shadows of the past ever lurking in the background.

Instead of betraying her husband, she chose to seclude herself in the Neutral zone with her daughters. Grief was all consuming, but she needed space from all the poison the Greater Nazi Reich brought, even if it meant leaving her better half alone. Meanwhile, after the death of Thomas and the subsequent departure of Helen, he was left to contemplate everything that was happening. His boy was dead, his wife had left, the Führer was dead and in Berlin there was an in fight for power, while he was being groomed for said high position. Sleep was eluding him, and when he did, nightmares plagued his rest. He had become but a shadow of himself. He was losing that last dwindling faith he had in the regime, but he had to pretend, if only to ensure the safety of his family.
