Summary
When Alastor tells Rosie he doesn't remember much about his rut, he is lying. He can describe the little sinner he found in great detail. A fascinating head, an expressive face. Shabby clothes over childlike proportions. A grown man turned as small and non-threatening as could be. Alastor describes him to Rosie over and over, stressing the details, any little bit that may help her find him.
When he lies, it's to make vague what happened next. She knows the broad strokes. Alastor caught the new sinner - freshly fallen, first day in hell if not the very first hour - and… made use of him. He withholds the details, but he trusts Rosie to read between the lines. Alastor has never been drawn to sexual hunger in his ruts before, but that doesn’t mean it could never happen.
“I must find him,” Alastor concludes. “You will help, won't you? I swear I'll pay any price you set.”
