“Doesn’t ring a bell.” Dick has only met a handful of Tim’s civilian friends in passing. The majority of them were superficial, quick to come and quick to go. The ones that stuck around were few and far between, more due to Tim’s picky nature than an inability to keep friends. If one sneaks through that barrier he’s built around himself, it’s usually for a good reason.
“Yeah, you probably wouldn’t. We fell out of touch pretty soon after…” Jack Drake’s death. Stephanie Brown’s death. Darla Aquista’s death. Tim’s steep transition from semi-happy teenager to an orphan with his heart broken too many times to repair.
Tim clears his throat. “Anyway, I saw him again a few nights ago. We met up for dinner. It was...kind of a date.”
