“Mhm”, Nico tilts his head up to press his nose into Gideon’s cheek. He’s warm and solid and smells of vanilla. “Of course they are, they raised me.”
Gideon scoffs fondly, his hands on Nico’s waist both grounding and maddening. If he was the type of person to stew in past mistakes, he’d probably beat himself up for not realizing his feelings earlier, for not letting himself have this. But he’s just glad to have it now, and he’s going to make the best of it.
Gideon opens his mouth to reply something inconsequential, probably about how he’s ridiculous or which of his parents resembles him more, but Nico cuts him off with an open-mouthed kiss.
In the aftermath, Nico takes Gideon to his childhood home.
