“Jim Kirk,” the kid says, looking at him with an expression that’s simultaneously a mixture of impressed, amused, and… nervous? What about this conversation would make the kid nervous? Jim quickly looks away and takes his own deep swig of alcohol.
Leonard nods his head in acknowledgement and says, “McCoy, Leonard McCoy.” He gratefully accepts the flask when the kid hands it back to him and takes another swig.
The ghost’s eyes bore holes into him the entire shuttle ride, and Leonard wonders who the heck he’s made the acquaintance of that has a teenage ghost who’s died so horribly following him around.
