Summary
Nails clacking on the linoleum. A soft, “Find Robby!” Excited panting, dancing nails, a big fluffy dog barreling into them. As he’d been trained to do, Andy bullied his way into Robby’s lap, pushing his big fat head between their arms and legs and chest, pushing his shoulders into the gap, pawing obnoxiously on Robby’s legs until they lowered them to sprawl in front of them. And then Andy—all 150lbs of him—plopped into Robby’s lap and leaned most of his weight onto Robby’s chest. He started panting, tail thumping against Robby’s leg, all stinky, wonderful dog breath right into Robby’s shoulder.
It was hard to breathe for another reason—this one much more welcoming.
Robby buried their hands into Andy’s brindle fur, hugging him close. Pretending their eyes weren’t warm and wet. “Good boy, Andy,” they murmured into his fur.

Summary
[Jack pressed Andy’s bag into Robby’s hand with a soft smile. “You ready?”
“No,” Robby answered honestly.
But they took the bag anyway. It had treats, his bowl and a water bottle, poop bags, and a few other miscellaneous items they might need when Andy went out with them. They didn’t want to take Andy—wanted to prove that they were okay—but Jack had insisted. Something about making HR more sympathetic.
“You don’t need to play it up,” Jack reminded them. “But don’t hide it, either. If you’re going to have a panic attack—have the damn panic attack. Don’t try to hide it. They need to see how awful she’s been to you.”
Because even after getting home after screaming at Gloria, even after removing themself from the situation, Robby was still fucking anxious, didn’t want to step foot back in that G-dforsaken hospital. Didn’t want to run into Gloria. Was wholly, entirely, willing to quit if they ever had to face Gloria again.]

Robby should have expected that Patch would need medical attention. He’d gone way too many weeks without injury.
Too bad he had to come to the Pitt.

Summary
[Patch showed up at six o’clock on the dot, hair disheveled and bags under his eyes. Andy was quick to greet him, pressing against his legs, whining as Patch gave him gentle pets. Shit. That really wasn’t good, then. Andy didn’t normally go to comfort others unless it was really bad.
“Hey, man, you good?” Jack asked softly, closing the door behind Patch.
Patch’s lower lip wobbled. “No, man. I’m not.”
Fuck.
Robby guided him into the apartment. “You wanna eat?”
His breath hitched, but he nodded, murmuring, “Yeah… I haven’t eaten today, yet. Just a granola bar but…”
Robby and Jack shared an alarmed look. “Have you been eating?” Jack asked, pulling out glasses for water. There was no way they were giving Patch alcohol if he was this bad.
Patch shook his head as he collapsed into a chair. Like a good boy, Andy sat between his legs under the table and pressed his big head against Patch’s torso. “Not really. Been kinda fucked up, man. I—” His breath hitched and he curled around Andy’s head. “I fucking hate myself so much.”]
Patch goes to Jack and Robby to talk. To expose some feelings.
Robby might be new to this polyamorous thing, but it sounds kind of nice.

Summary
[There is something heavy on their chest.
They startle, confused. It’s dark. There’s a soft yellow glow but it’s not enough to see by. Their breathing is shallow. They don’t make any sudden movements. They are soaked from sweat, mouth dry, filled with dirt and sand. Something is tangled around their legs. Their dog tags press against their throat, almost choking them. It’s hot, wherever they are. They can feel the sweat clinging to them, dripping, salty liquid slipping down their temples, into their hair, pooling in the shell of their ear. Their ears are ringing. From the bomb. From—from the beeping machines—
The thing on top of them has quick breaths. Panting. Directly in their ear. Its breath is stinky, but almost in a pleasant way. A soft tongue licks their ear, their cheek, over their mouth, reminding them to breathe.
They draw in a breath, sucking, lungs aching. Throat raw. They don’t know where they are—
Their fingers grasp the thing on top of them. Fluffy. Soft.
There are no dogs in Hell.]
