Gabriel wasn't the only one that left Heaven behind. His older brother Michael decided to follow him, since he wasn't too happy about banishing Lucifer out of Heaven and that he wasn't in a good place to run Heaven as a whole. Once they're torn out their wings and find their vessels now both known as Loki and Sigyn. The Trickster and The Victory. Both of them stay at each other's side no matter what comes their way.
When Loki decided to mess with the Winchester brothers, Sigyn knew that if he kept it up, one of them would find out who they are. Which one of them did. And now they have no other choice but to get involved with the apocalypse that was doomed to play out no matter how much they hate to get involved once more.

On the one hand, this isn’t actually all that different from if Michael was doing the same thing on a hypothetical different bed the same distance away, and Gabriel probably wouldn’t think much of that at all. That happens at home semi-regularly. It’s a bodily function — a flattering one, but still, just a thing the bodies they’re in now do, same as any other.
