Just some fidds angst
----
But why did he feel that way? Why was everything so familiar but so distorted? Stan was the funhouse mirror version of someone who only flickered across his memory for a split second. That flash of the past, of something lost, buried, torn away from him, caused his heart to ache; he wanted to clutch at his chest and stop the pain hurting. If only he knew how to fix this, how could you fix what you didn’t know was broken beyond repair? -

Stanford’s pointer finger extended from his hold, directing itself at the other man. This time when he smiled, there was nothing warm about it.

Summary
He stared at the steel box from afar, knowing exactly what lied inside it. Putting it there was supposed to be a preventive measure, to keep himself from using it after the side effects had already begun to corrode his body and mind, to stop himself before it eventually—inevitably—tore apart his last shreds of sanity.
But he was never a strong-willed man
"I need this." He mumbled to no one but himself, a reassurance that tried to ease the whirlwind of emotions that had nested inside him. Fiddleford stood up with wobbling legs, using the bed's headrest as a support, trying not to topple over in his disoriented state. Blood pounded in his ears as he walked over to the safe, the only place he could trust to keep his most precious invention. The rotten wood of the closet doors creaked as they were opened, revealing a steel box inside. Fiddleford's trembling fingers pressed down on the familiar numbers, the motion having been long-engraved into his subconscious; for now, it was just muscle memory.

Summary
“Actually, I don’t know if I do anymore. You seem to be pretty certain you've done a good enough job of it, so read them out! Show me exactly every place Fordsy went wrong and we can discuss it together.” Bill’s voice lacked that ever-present playful twinge he usually held, which sent a shiver down Fiddleford’s spine, acutely aware of how close Bill had leaned in.
With Stanford’s body, Bill shoved the chair forward all the way, Fiddleford’s stomach now pressed uncomfortably against the wood as he was forced to take shallow breaths, “Show me right now how much better you are than Sixer!”

Summary
After getting his memory erased to save the town from Bill, Stan quickly regained most of his memories. The odd thing was, that he had begun remembering things that he was sure had not been there before. Memories of people and places that didn't quite fit in with the rest, like a puzzle with extra pieces.
So far he had remembered that after Ford went into the portal, Fiddleford had made a return to the shack. After explaining the situation, Stan and Fiddleford had begun working together to bring Ford back for several years. Eventually, Fiddleford disappeared leaving Stan with no recollection of ever meeting him.
One day, Stan came back to the shack after some stealing some preparations for the twins' return and smiled to see Ford pacing the living room, passionately ranting about something to Fiddleford who sat amused on the sofa.
As Stan stepped into the room and dropped the goods by the door, Fiddleford turned his attention to him.
"Heya, Stanley." Then-Stan recalls a night with Fiddleford for the first time

Summary

Summary
Fiddleford goes to Stanford's house to convince him to shut down the project. He isn't sure if Stanford will give in- he's always been a stubborn man- so he brings some backup, in the form of his memory gun.
He has a plan. He might be biased, but he even thinks its a good plan.
Step 1; knock on the door. Easy.
Step 2; apologize for leaving like he did. It was rude, and Stanford deserved better. Well, that might be overstating it. Stanford had been rude too, but he wasn’t holding his breath for an apology.
Step 3; convince Stanford to shut down the project. The hardest step, but the most important one.. . . When did Stanford get a horse?
