James Griffin would love to say that his first meeting with aliens involved a lot of badassery and the kicking of alien ass, but instead, he barely remembers anything about how he ended up locked in an alien prison, told horror stories about the arena. About these 'Champions', who he'll be forced to fight in only a few short days.
Oh, and those idiots McClain and Kogane are somehow alive too. Griffin has many conflicting emotions about that development, but that can wait. He has to get out of this prison first, get back to Earth to help rebuild what's left of the Garrison after those aliens destroyed it.
