In the now lighted room, stood an older man alongside a young woman who immediately rushed to her. Their words fell on deaf ears as he couldn't register their words for a few moments from the ache.
He could catch but a few words in his state, but the pieces fell right in their places, and the puzzle solved itself. With parted lips, he tried to speak out but no words left his mouth. With tensed muscles, he could feel his heart race erratically but his face remained stoic. Alas, something had been amiss and all he could but assume for now.
