And there, on a large cliff, stood a person.
Clad in white, platinum hair framing his face, warm eyes full of sparks that once promised wonders and new skills. Now the warmth was all but gone, and the sparks heralded only dominion, destruction and an insatiable hunger for power.
Annatar’s robes billowed in the lethal heat swirling below, and his attention was on one sole object: the band of gold resting on his finger.
Celebrimbor's mind recoiled, and were he physically there, he would've paled.
He could feel the power emanating from the Maia and the ring alike: raw, untamed, brutal and – most importantly – void of any good intentions.
Everything Annatar ever obscured or hid from him now lay bare at his feet, and for the first time since meeting the 'emissary', he knew with the utmost clarity his dearest, closest friend was not who he first seemed.

Summary
The Akallabêth tells the tale of the Fall of Númenor. Well. Of the Lords, and of how their actions led to it. For the common folk there is little place in tales and legends.
But they lived there. They had to work there, find ways to bring bread to the table. They loved, they laughed, they held children and did little kind things to each other.

Here it is folks, I'm attempting it: a more detailed recounting of Númenor's Fall, with involved key events and some others to help flesh out the narrative, in the universe of my prior fics "A Chance Meeting" and "Becoming Faithful" (through my OC's perspective and in the world of their family // their Faithful kin). This work takes place six years after "Becoming Faithful" ends.

Summary
Galadriel arrives in Númenor not in armor, but in silk—posing as someone she's not, here to offer a helping hand to a struggling nation. She tells the Queen she’s here to advise. In truth, she’s hunting something: a fire cult that rose too fast, too fervently, and now sways the nobility like a second crown.
At its center stands Mairon, the Queen’s high priest—beloved, gilded, and dangerous. A man whose sermons leave the city trembling, whose eyes burn like prophecy, and who is definitely not what he claims to be.
As rituals grow bloodier and the court grows stranger, Galadriel finds herself drawn into a game of sermons, symbols, and late-night debates that sound suspiciously like seduction.
Meanwhile, Mairon remembers another name. And beneath the temple, something old is still listening.

Summary
For a moment time stops, everything suspended save the rapid rise and fall of their chests, their pupils dilating, a deep flush sweeping across their cheeks and necks. They are a mirror, the light and the dark in sync, muscles tense and swallowing hard, each sizing up the other.
Galadriel will never remember who actually moved first. It’s better to believe that it wasn’t her foot twitching and launching her into the arms of her hated enemy, pulse thundering in her ears and her own voice screaming inside her head now now now.

An unforeseen side effect arises after both Sauron and Galadriel have been pierced by Morgoth's Crown. Compelled to meet throughout the Second Age, the two enemies must navigate their supposed animosity while heading their respective campaigns. But at what point is the line between an ancient blood bond and genuine desire blurred? It is a question that will cast a shadow over both until the Third Age... and maybe beyond.

Summary
Sauron always said Galadriel would come to him, now or anon, or at the end of all things. He may not be wrong, yet right or no, he also came to her. As he was tonight, again.
From her high Talan she could see the tower of Dol Guldur in the distance. She built Caras Galadhon on the western edge of the Anduin for that very purpose. Talans, after all, were originally built as guard platforms and she had guarded her realm well against the greatest evil in all Middle Earth.
And though she also guarded her mind, she did not hide, not on nights like this. A dance of the ages, stepping into each others' spheres when the distance of space and time became unbearably great.

Galadriel imagines she is next to him again, something within her cracking as she contemplates that among men once more, he must surely be wearing Halbrand’s face.
