Life is unfair. You can rage and push against the things that make it hard, but it'll throw you for a loop again and again until you don't know up from down. As Q is suddenly thrust into the musical spotlight, he's forced to reckon with traumas he thought he buried long ago, while also learning how to handle things like love, loss, and what he wants from his life.
OR, Wilbur and Q survive graduation and come out with a stronger relationship than ever two years after they become roommates. Things are stable for a while, all up until Q meets a childhood friend through sheer chance.
And from there it's a chain reaction; he joins Sapnap's cover band, discovers what it means to be a reliable adult to a struggling six-year-old, and is forced to face the worry that love isn't actually worth it, wondering if the last time he would feel love like that was with his abusive ex-fiance.2/3 of Face the Music

From being forced to grow up too early and face life's traumas head on, to learning how to live life to its fullest regardless, this fic is about self-discovery and learning that you can overcome life's greatest challenges with your support system behind you (and also understanding that music heals the darkest parts of you that you can't reach yourself).
OR, Wilbur and Q meet in high school, and so their lives are forever affected by each other by simple circumstance. As they deal with abuse, custody court, life-threatening accidents and victories alike, they slowly grow to become each other's rock. Centering around Wilbur, Schlatt and Quackity, this story is the first of three in a series.
(If you're reading this to catch up to Lather the Blood, I know the first few chapters go by way quicker than the rest of the story. Bear with me. I was experimenting, it gets better.)

He resents the idea of Wilbur returning after everytime he's dismissed, kicked out, or told to piss off and maybe that's why Wilbur kept doing it. Even with all of the work Quackity still has to complete by himself, Prime, all the work, if he doesn't die in this casino during his shifts, he must have not put in enough effort.
