Summary
During their time on the Boiling Isles, Edric and Emira, twin humans, have grown very close to Raine Whispers, their mentor, a known criminal, and the most powerful witch on the Isles. However, Raine's curse has been getting worse, and Ed and Em are determined to help them.
At Hexside, Ed and Em's class is going on a field trip to the Empress's Castle. Before the trip, the twins learn about the Healing Hat, an ancient artifact that can heal Raine.
Meanwhile, Hale, Raine's older brother who's the head of the Empress's Coven, has been given orders by the Empress for a whole month to capture Raine with every attempt ending in failure. The Empress has given Hale one more chance to prove himself, or else he'll be banished from the coven. Hale has also been hiding a secret from Raine for years and may have to reveal it on his mission to capture them.
Will Ed and Em succeed in healing their mentor or will Hale successfully capture Raine and escape the Empress's harsh punishments?
