In most stories, you hear about a legendary hero defeating a villain who wanted to destroy all life on a planet. After a fierce battle, the villain is gone, and peace is restored. The people go about their normal lives, rebuilding while treating the event as a simple bad time. Yet, few realize that the one who was hurt the most was the hero himself. And in this case, that was the hero of the war against the Primers, Storm 1. Despite the fierce war, humanity moved on and grew. But, almost instantly, most had forgotten who had saved them, and even fewer knew or cared about just how damaged he was.

Now, not only is it a race to find the history-altering ships and stop the Primers, but it is also a balancing act to avoid causing a time paradox. If only they had more aspirin to go around.

Ever since that fateful day, thanks to Storm 1, the Primers were long gone, with humanity triumphing. And ever since then, things have been quiet. But that all changed one day when some satellite images caught some weird aliens on Japan's ghost island. Wanting to avoid another potential disaster, the EDF sends in Storm 1, Storm 2 (Alpha Team), and Storm 4 (Spriggans) to investigate. Meanwhile, Storm 3 (Grim Reapers) are sent to investigate a series of disappearances and brutal murders near an abandoned amusement park near a forest. But little did any of them know, this was just the beginning of something much larger.

However, they all knew that most of their troubles were only just beginning as they had to retake Base 228 if they wanted to get Barga and have a chance to defeat the rampaging monster known as Archelus. Yet, the one thing the Sergeant and Storm 1 weren't looking forward to was hearing the Spriggans and Grim Reapers arguing again. Unfortunately, they knew they had to put up with them as they needed all the help they could get if they wanted to retake the base, and that there was no one else able to help them. Yet, they also realized that they should properly thank for him for saving the plant and their asses throughout both wars. There was just one problem. Storm 1 had disappeared again, and they needed to find him. Luckily, they knew just who to ask: Omega Team's Leader.

Now with a second chance to live his life with humanity in one piece again, Storm 1 wondered what path he should take. Should he try to return to his old life or try to become an EDF Ranger again? Only time will tell.

Basically its the game "Earth Defense Force 5" as a fan fic, with some changes, but anyone whos played the game would be able to see the differences, and make sense of them, and the changes are small things, like names for unnamed characters, a bit more "realistic" things when my brain can fathom them. And you know, not giving the civilian an assault rifle and rocket launcher at the end.
Im going to try and keep it so each mission is a chapter, but other then that. Thats about it.
Only other thing is, this is a "Ranger" "playthrough" because there are 3 other classes the main character could play as. I just wanted to "roll" with Ranger.
