Summary
Don, a newcomer to the southern United State of Kentucky, makes a discovery about his date of birth: it lands on the same day as America's celebration of independence. Newly aware and excited, he invites all his friends over to celebrate. Even though some of them couldn't make it, there's just one friend he wanted there most: Gilda.
But even in the midst of celebration, sadness still exists. What Don had planned to make a special event turns into a cascade of memories, old and new, good and bad. Surprises, however, also exist.
