Tommy stumbled back a step, his ears flicking nervously, but he quickly recovered. “Didn’t see you there, old man,” he shot back, a teasing edge in his voice.
His tail wagged cautiously as he took a half-step forward, his posture daring but not quite aggressive. The spark in his blue eyes betrayed his delight at finding something—or someone—to focus on.

Ranboo wanted a dog and due to circumstances completely out of his control he had no other choice but to take someone else’s dog. And while that may be a crime, Ranboo isn’t opposed to it at all. He arrives at the dog park and looks around as he enters the gated area. A bunch of cute dog boys but one catches his eye, an adorable little Pomeranian boy.. perfect!
(Takes place in a world where hybrids are more animalistic than you would probably expect)

Tommy’s heart squeezed in his chest. They- the three of them- had an emotion Tommy was unfamiliar with plastered on their faces and he could smell it oozing from their hands and breath and bodies. He wanted the hotdog. And everything that came with it. Badly. He wanted everything it meant so fiercely it crawled into his throat and choked him. It’s everything and nothing. It’s hard to think with four paws, but Tommy’s had a lot of practice.

Tommy sat down, panting as his tail wagged. Wilbur got on one knee, squishing his face and rubbing his cheeks exaggeratedly.
“I’ll see you in a bit, Toms.” Wilbur then pressed a kiss to his forehead. “You be good now. And I love you. Thank you for being my best friend.”
Tommy licked Wilbur’s nose in return, the man giggling before standing up.
Wilbur always told him that. How they were best friends.
That was what Wilbur was. Wilbur was his best friend. When Tommy was sad and in need of cuddles, Wilbur was there. When Wilbur was sad and in need of cuddles, Tommy was there. Wilbur’s tears would soak into his fur as he cried, leaving damp spots.
Tommy didn’t mind though. Of course not! He just licked that salty stickiness from Wilbur’s face and then they cuddled more! Or maybe Wilbur would throw a toy a few times.
Whatever it was they did, Tommy didn’t mind. Because they did it together!
The doors to the train shut, slowly taking off.
