Summary
He tapped his index finger against the top of his jeans, head moving in a rhythmic twitching. He wasn’t aware of it, it was just something he did unconsciously. The next song had started; harsh guitar strumming filled his ears.
It was soothing. Violent in a way that pulled all the feelings in his chest out, letting him express himself internally. It’s what he liked about rock; you could get lost in the chaos.
“BABY!”
A voice yelling at him and fingers snapping in his field of view startled him out of his thoughts, out of the music he had pulled himself into. Baby blinked and looked up. Doc had walked over to him, a scowl present on his face.
“Baby, you with me?”
Baby nodded.
“Good. Coffee, go get it.”
The second verse started by the time he stepped into the elevator. He tried to ignore the feeling of obsidian, dark eyes staring at him as he walked away.

Baby liked the quiet hum of the coffee shop, a small corner of peace hidden away on a small side street off the corner of the main avenue. It was around mid-afternoon when the man walked in - a sharp suit, and a perpetually displeased expression etched into his face.
"Black coffee. No sugar, no cream," the man said.
He thought about the man's eyes, how they constantly flicked over to him while he worked. It hadn't just been curiosity - it had felt like recognition.
But that was impossible. They'd never met. Had they?
Baby frowned, pushing the odd thought aside. He had other customers to deal with. No time to dwell on mysterious men who ordered black coffee and stared too long.

this is just an idea i came up with after i saw baby driver for the first time. tell me these two wouldn't be kinda cute together
td;lr: whiplash/baby driver AU where debora breaks up with baby after he went to prison so he moved up to new york to escape his past. he and andrew meet while andrew's busy looking for drumming gigs
(basically, takes place after both movie plots. so it's not really an alternate universe, if you think about it? more so a different interpretation of either endings. but i digress..)
anyways don't expect much from this, it's sorta just fun little drabbles i wrote up and i'll probably utilize this to fill in the hiatus between my tsp fic chapters. enjoy!

It follows the plot of the film with small edits to keep with the personality of the Foxes. Not all the foxes are within the story, but enjoy anyway.

After his time in prison Baby starts a new life for himself with Debora by his side, however, things seem to be headed downhill for the two. As Baby deals with the fact that he doesn't want to admit to himself that Debora has become abusive, someone comes his way and ends up lighting up his life again. However, that person may just end up leading him down a path that he thought he had put behind him a long time ago.

Miles wasn't a vindictive guy. He wasn’t particularly vicious, or petty or even angry. Mostly Miles was tired.
He spent so long on high speed he didn't know what slowing down felt like, spent so long with his foot on the pedal he didn't know how to just enjoy the ride.
Getting out of prison only helped so much, but nothing felt enough.
Thankfully for him, he wouldn't have to worry for long, because somewhere, not so far away but not that close either, in an undisclosed location somewhere in America, there was a dead man with a team of ghosts who desperately needed a driver.☽ Chase me, catch me if you can
