Summary
“You seem to like ladybugs.” The kid nodded, his blue-green eyes fixated on the three bugs in his hand.
“They… they’re my friends.”
Leone hummed, eyes on the sunset. He and the child had waited for a couple of hours; no parents arrived. From the corner of his eye, he could see the kid smiling softly while playing with the bugs, a sight that made his heart clench in anguish; because how could someone abandon their child like that? It was unacceptable, and, in that moment, he knew he had to do something or the kid wouldn’t survive for long.
“C’mon, Coccinella, you’re coming with me to the station.”
"'Coccinella’?”
“You didn’t want to give me your name, and you like ladybugs, might as well call you one, hm?”
[ Abbacchio finds an abandoned child while on patrol duty, unaware that such encounter would completely change his life. ]

Summary
Leone Abbacchio never thought he could get his sense of justice and protective instincts back. Yet somehow, during the lowest moments of his life, he created a little girl so innocent and beautiful, someone that needs his help and care. The baby only had him as a parent, and, despite how pathetic he may feel at parenting, Abbacchio is going to do his damn best to make sure that she is happy despite what fate has thrown at them. Maybe, just maybe, his heart could return if he raised his daughter to have the happy life he never had. And who knows, perhaps he can also open his heart for a certain someone along the way.

Summary
Bruno Bucciarati always wanted to be a parent, he saw just how much his father cherished being a parent and wanted that for himself, but when the vampire is excommunicated from everything around him and residing himself to living alone in the forest; he assumes those hopes are dashed.
Leone Abbacchio was rather indifferent about the aspect of children, he was fine with them and just as equally fine without them, but when sentenced to death and escaping the town he grew up in; he didn't have any reason to think about the prospect further when survival was the only thing on his mind.
Though when the two meet; it gives Bruno what he wants, and makes a choice for Leone on the matter.

“Hey,” His voice was a soft hum as he carefully brought his hand up to Giorno’s head, gently stroking a few golden locks away from his cheek, still slightly damp from his recent shower.
“Something on your mind?”
“No sir. I think I’m just getting tired.” The response left Giorno’s mouth before his mind even had a chance to process what was said, eyes only sparing a brief glance toward the man. At least he could take some solace in the fact that his statement was technically true; he was very tired. Since his arrival at his fosters’ home, he remained silent about how often sleep evaded him and, on the rare occasions he did manage to fall asleep, the nightmares that startled him awake.
