Summary
This is my first attempt at fanfiction, so I’ve tried to approach it with care.
I wanted to blend canon with a few alternate-universe elements and create a happier, meaningful ending. Since the series never explicitly shows Nick’s body, I chose to be creative and explore the parachute possibility. After all, the canon has already bent its own rules, so why not take it further?
Rather than having Nick reunite with June immediately after the landing, I wanted to give these star-crossed lovers time to heal and grow from their experiences in Gilead. Two broken people cannot truly love each other until they first learn to love themselves.
I also felt it was important to give Nick, a good and decent man, his own voice and agency. Their love may have been shattered, but by becoming whole again as individuals, a new kind of love can emerge between them, and I believe they are meant for each other.
This story will also explore themes of psychology, since healing is a vital part of rebuilding self-identity.Series

The TV series messed everything up for him.
Altering the last 10 minutes of Episode 9, we pick up there to see if Nick could ever have good luck on his side.
This story won't be true to The Testaments, because the show writers weren't either.Story is complete!

Summary
“No man chooses evil because it is evil,” she found herself quoting quietly, tiredly, “He only mistakes it for happiness, the good he seeks”.
Lawrence looked at her sharply and his breathe seemed to catch, and she found herself peering back at him, watchful and wary, guarded but…strangely, curious, still. He’d committed atrocities against humanity, there was no denying that…and yet, for whatever bizarre, perhaps sick reason, she didn’t think he was evil. She wanted to, it would be easy and totally justified, and yet…
“Why is it…” Lawrence said softly, gazing at her a little bemusedly, “…that I always end up with the perspective Handmaids? Is...is there a sign or something hanging off my front door?”
“Perhaps it's your own special punishment, sir”.

“You could stay over? Get you across in a couple days. Be safer that way.”
June’s eyes searched him. As much as he tried to conceal his desperation, he knew she saw right through it all.
“Yeah, alright,” she agreed softly.
He smiled faintly at her, the rest of the world melting away. It’d been so long since they’d spent a night together. It was like a dream come true.
Nick, June, and Moira spend some time together in Nick's house in New Bethlehem, finding a new way to proceed in the long process of bringing Gilead to its knees. A 6x06/6x07 fix-it fic.

Summary
“Because I'm telling you this story, I will your existence.” —Margaret Atwood
June stopped Nick from walking on to the plane, but they are both still broken and hoping for another chance.
These four chapters serve as a prologue to a series in which both June and Nick embark on their own journeys of healing and redemption.
Part 1 will follow June as she witnesses the revolution, helps rebuild New Boston, and manages the guilt of her past actions. (side characters will also be given more attention.)
Part 2 will follow Nick as he settles into a new assignment, learns to work with a team, and believes in his own redemption. (more original characters will be involved.)
Canon divergence from 6x09 but connects to, and sets up, The Testaments.

Summary
Season 6, episode 9, you know which scene.
Hey, writers? There were many ways to give Joseph Lawrence a beautiful farewell without totally fucking up June and Nick's characterization. I'm sure there will be many fix-it fics to prove this. Here's mine.
Each chapter is a different variation on how the scene could have gone down.-

Still, she couldn’t let him get on that doomed plane. He was Holly’s father. Her lover and partner, who had protected her, comforted her, cherished her, done almost every single thing she’d ever asked. His betrayal of one single Mayday operation could not negate all that. It was her turn, finally, to save him.“No,” she said aloud as he stumbled toward the jet’s door.
Nick froze, turned around to face her disembodied voice. She peeked her head over the SUV’s window, so he could see her distorted through the glass. Her face was tear-streaked, panicky. She shook her head at him urgently: no. They locked eyes. His lips pressed into a thin line as he considered what to do. Then he turned and walked into the plane with renewed energy.
June collapsed on the cement. He left. He saw me but left anyway. He chose Gilead.
What option did she have now, though? Run on board and grab him? Ridiculous. The Commanders had pistols; they’d surely shoot her on sight.
She knelt on the ground, face in hands, sobbing. Her heart felt like it was ripping in two. Heartbreak: what a fitting word. One of English’s best words. She vowed to wait there, kneeling like a handmaid on Ceremony evening, until the plane had taken off and the bomb had torn it apart. Torn her apart.
She didn’t look up as the whine of the engines told her the jet was leaving the hanger.
“June.” A gentle baritone saying one long vowel sandwiched between two soft consonants.
Her head lifted. Nick stood before her with a concerned expression. She stood up, ran to him, threw her arms around his shoulders, embraced him as tightly as she could.
“You didn’t get on the plane,” she breathed into his neck.
“You told me not to.”
She tried to laugh through her tears. The sound she made was more like a strangled cry. “You obey me now?”
“Well, I kinda assumed that if you’re here in this hanger, there’s probably a rebel with a hand grenade lurking around too.”

Summary
Nick Blaine survived. But survival came at a price — the woman he loved betrayed him when he needed her most, and his conscience remained burdened by shadows from the past. In England, he was given a second chance: an anonymous life far from Gilead.
What he didn’t expect was the return of the one the past had nearly destroyed — Janine, the sole survivor of that tragic night at Jezebel’s. She had every reason to hate him. And yet, she was the first to want to hear his side of the story. And maybe… to decide whether he deserved forgiveness. Or something even more — happiness and a new beginning.
This story follows most events of the canon, along with the one-shot You Never Would’ve Chosen Me, in which Nick escaped his fate on the plane. The tag for Nick/June mainly represents their past relationship — in this story, they are former lovers.

Summary
This is a sequel to my fic "Rethinking Tuello and Blaine"...because it seems even my backstories have backstories. You could read this one without the previous story, though. It focuses on a teenage boy in Gilead. Since we haven't seen in the series how the boys are treated, I've made a lot of stuff up, including the idea of 'Prussians,' the male equivalent of Plums.
