Gordie had never expected himself to fall in love. To him, love was trapped behind TV screens and ink on paper. In tattoos and old recounts of first loves and high school sweethearts. Inaccessible to him. Love was meant for important people. People who deserved to be written into love stories and hard pressed into wedding invitations. People like Chris. Beautiful people. Main characters of grand soap operas and glamorous celebrities, maybe. Not lanky, poor 14 year olds from a town with its feet stuck firmly into soil from the 1500s. So, if you asked Gordie if he ever thought he'd fall in love, he'd probably laugh in your face. But he guessed he must of lived his life with a large, invisible target on his back, because soon enough he had been struck by cupids arrow,
