The dog, Sturm, is sweet and has an owner, a man named Heisenberg. Chris figures that this will be the first and last time he sees either of them and his life will go back to its regularly scheduled programming.
This turns out to be wrong. A few days later, Chris walks downstairs to find that Sturm is once again in his backyard. This begins a friendship, and then Chris starts wanting more than just the friendship.
