Summary
Huo Xiaoyuan ducks out of the room first, eyes watering and a hand held to her nose to try and stymie the flow of blood. Li Cu fumbles about his various pockets, and manages to come up with a cloth that, at least, looks clean. "Here," he says, offering it to her. "And don't tilt your head back."
"How touching," comes a drawling voice. "Xiao Yuan, I didn't realise you'd collected a boyfriend."
As before, Wang Xiaoyuan shrinks away from the slim man. His hair is slightly mussed from exertion, sticking up in the back where it's wicked with sweat. "I just wanted him to win. An asset for our family is important." Yet, her voice trembles; she's not looking at him, her gaze fixed on some mid distance on the ground. She's not shaking, but she's holding herself in a way that means it's not because her body doesn't want to.
