Summary
Sensing her own projection, Joanna calmed herself with a deep set breath. Ever since the extension of their family things had changed. The dynamics that they grew comfortable with in their youth no longer applied. Being a parent to a developing daughter brought on added anxiety. Most of the time they worked through it, adapted. Today was an off day. “Alright, alright. I’ll go get it. Take Cassie, I’ll meet you by the truck.”
“Meet us by the truck? We need to go, Jo! Leave the backup!” Something twitched nervously at the base of his skull, a threatening beacon, a pull. The sound of whipping wind sliced through wooden beams and aerated throughout the home.

Summary
Megan Harding spent her entire childhood chasing storms. Or maybe they were chasing her. She guessed it was only natural. The daughter of two of the most famous storm chasers of the time would have a hard time separating herself from unpredictable weather phenomenons.
She'd been allowed to tag along on chases since she was eight, provided of course that she stuck to whichever vehicle was at the back of the convoy and followed every direction given to her to a T. Sometimes if she was lucky her mom would even pull her replacement Jeep J10 out of the barn and let her ride along with her.
Meg was fourteen the first time a tornado chased her back. It didn't matter how much she helped out in demolished communities or how many times she dealt with the cries for lost loved ones, nothing could have prepared her for losing her dad.
The studies weren't enough. The warnings weren't enough. Meg Harding wanted to figure out what made tornadoes tick and what it took to get them to stop.
And it all began with a joint college PhD project.
