Summary
Society had come a long way with how they viewed soulmarks, both platonic and romantic, but the stigma from the past still remained.
People clung to the old belief that the more marks you had, the more fractured your soul actually was. People with multiples were thought to be marked by the devil. The greatest of the world's evils had been done by people who carried less than five.
