When Vanessa walks into the shitty gas station at the edge of town for her first day of work, at her first ever job, she finds two scruffy-looking guys standing at the counter, staring at her like she just crash-landed into their atmosphere and started speaking exclusively in Klingon.
Which is odd, because the owners told her they only had one scruffy-looking guy on staff, and that he was the only person on staff, period.
(I have a lot of feelings about Vanessa Riggin. So many, in fact, that I fucked up and wrote 31k words for what was supposed to be a gas station shenanigans fic. Whoops.)
