After Aster and Sage move in together thanks to a roommate request ad, the two young adults are trying to make their way in life in the bustling city of Detroit where the conflict between two alien factions - the Autobots and the Decepticons - rages on around them.
Sage lives a secret life as a witch while Aster repairs commercial aeroplanes with a particularly fascinating gauntlet. Both are seemingly content with their lives and neither want much more.
